A Small Guide to Sowing Heirloom Seeds
Heirloom seeds are living history. They have not been hybridized for shelf life or shipping toughness — they have been chosen for flavor, fragrance, and the way they grow in real gardens.
Tomatoes: Start indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost. Barely cover the seed. Keep soil warm and lightly moist. Transplant only when nights stay above 10°C.
Herbs: Most culinary herbs prefer light to germinate. Press seeds into the surface, mist gently, and give them a bright window.
Save seed from your best plants. Share with a neighbor. That is how a garden becomes a lineage.
